The number of those at Ramtha Transit facility is approximately 400.The increase in numbers can be attributable to a number of factors including a rise in the numbers of those crossing the border into Jordan illegally (that is those who have exited illegally) due to reported increase in violent unrest in Dara\'a, on the Syrian side of the border. The Government of Japan has confirmed in writing a contribution of USD 1,000,000 to UNHCR for \"Emergency Grant Aid to refugees and IDPs affected by the political instability in the Syrian Arab Republic\".
