14 January 2015 Ms. Elizabeth Tan, UNHCR Regional Representative, met with the Governor of Marsa Matrouh, Major General Staff Officer Badr Tantawi Al Ghandour, OMDA and government officials in Marsa Matrouh and Salloum in the North Coast of Egypt, to extend UNHCR’s appreciation for the continued support the government has shown to the Salloum camp for over three years.
During the visit to Salloum, Ms. Tan attended a ceremony at the Othman Ibn Affan public school, marking the handover of 200 school desks, as part of UNHCR’s support to the local community.
