12 months after the launching of the Somos Panas Colombia (We are friends) campaign, the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, presents a very positive assessment of this first year of activities and calls on Colombian society to welcome Venezuelan newcomers with empathy and solidarity.
Somos Panas Colombia was launched on December 20, 2017, on the International Day of Human Solidarity, with the aim of reducing the manifestations of xenophobia and promoting the solidarity of Colombians towards refugees and migrants from Venezuela. Since its beginning, the campaign has reached more than six million people and more than 235,000 opinion leaders and members of the government. In addition, Somos Panas Colombia has had a digital reach of more than 41,382,515 million people who, through the networks, were exposed to the communication messages of the campaign.
