National Command Operation Center (NCOC) has warned of the 4th wave of COVID-19 as there is a steady increase in daily cases of COVID-19 positive cases, which was over 1,800 on 12 July as compared to an average less than 1,000 during the first week of July. The positivity rate has also climbed to 4 per cent. Although vaccination is ongoing for all ages above 18, the coverage is still low. Only 4 million people have been fully vaccinated so far.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Khan had been supporting UNHCR’s activities for the last few years and has remained a strong voice for Afghan refugees in Pakistan. “I feel privileged to have been chosen to serve this noble cause,” said Ms. Khan at the appointment ceremony, which was held on Wednesday in Islamabad.

PAKISTAN: ISLAMABAD, 04 January 2019: The Federal Minister for Health Aamer Mehmood Kiani has pledged to support the inclusion of all residents of Pakistan, including Afghan refugees, into the government’s health plans and programmes that will allow them to have access to better healthcare services.
