Because the COVID-19 pandemic and the mitigation measures put in place to reduce transmission and curb the spread of the virus may disrupt the functioning of markets in Uganda, WFP increased the coverage and intensity of its remote market monitoring system to collect near-real-time data on prices of food commodities in Karamoja, refugee areas and selected markets in the rest of the country to better inform decision making.
