As at 3rd September 2014, Kakuma has received 42,680 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 178,110

As at 30th September 2014, Kakuma had received 43,587 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 178,580.

As at 20th November 2014, Kakuma had received 44,282 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 179,126.

As at 4th December 2014, Kakuma had received 44,457 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 179,218.

On 11th May, "United Drama Kakuma" youth group who won the global youth initiatives funds kicked started their project involving also host community leaders.

In KK preparations for polio campaign are underway and all required vaccines and supplies have been received. Malaria cases are closely monitored with partners.

During the week in Kakuma, US Embassy Dep.Refugee Coordinator,distributed with UNHCR various equipment/footballs to support sport activities among refugees.

Finnish officials from MFA in Helsinki visited Kakuma on 09 October to familiarize with its humanitarian situation and development of the new site in Kalobeyei.

An Australian delegation from the city of Sterling visited Kakuma from 16 -19 Oct. Aim of mission was to fund-raise for education/community and youth projects.

Int. Women’s Day was celebrated in KK on 08 March as global them of “Gender Equality 50/50 by 2030” & was colorfully attended by UNHCR, refugees/partners/Gov.
