A Oxford University team was in KK from 11-18 April to prepare the ground for a research on refugee/host community economies that will start later in the year.

Swiss Agency for Dev. & Coop.(SDC) Director General, Manuel Sager, visited Kakuma and Kalobeyei settlement to familiarize with UNHCR Operation in the area.

Good Neighbors International (GNI), a Korean NGO will partner with UNHCR to initiate the construction of a secondary school in Kakuma camp with a capacity to host 1,000 students.

In Kakuma total number of South Sudanese asylum seekers received as of 1st of April 2014 is 31,240.If the current trend continues will reach 50,000 in July 2014

As of 6th May, the total number of South Sudanese asylum seekers received in Kakuma is 35,850. This brings the total estimated camp population to 166,590.

As of 27th May,the total number of South Sudanese asylum seekers received in Kakuma is 37,320. This brings the total estimated camp population to 168,470.

As of 3rd June, the total number of South Sudanese asylum seekers received in Kakuma is 37,736. This brings the total estimated camp population to 168,885

As at 6th August 2014, Kakuma had received 41,780 asylum seekers from South Sudan.This brings the total camp population to 177,210

As at 14th August 2014, Kakuma has received 41,890 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 177,330.

As at 27th August 2014, Kakuma has received 42,410 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 177,390.
