The Municipality of Budapest does not own any health care institutions (primary care and outpatient specialist care belong to the district local governments, hospital inpatient care belong to the State). Budapest city government owns high number of elderly homes and also responsible for homeless care services throughout the city (community based services – such as home care – are supervised by local governments). Budapest runs the public transport of the city, the public cleaning services, waste transport, drinking water supply services, chimney cleaning services, and public park maintenance.
