PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu is engaging his counterparts in the region to discuss how best elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo can be held in a peaceful, free and fair manner.
General elections are scheduled for December 23, to determine who succeeds the incumbent President Joseph Kabila.
Last week, thousands of voting machines were destroyed in a fire in that country barely a week before the presidential election.
As chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) organ on politics, defence and security, President Lungu prays that elections in the DRC are held in a tranquil environment.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
