As at 20th November 2014, Kakuma had received 44,282 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 179,126.

As at 20th August 2014, Kakuma has received 42,228 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 177,670.

As at 17th September 2014, Kakuma has received 43,253 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 178,210.

As at 14th August 2014, Kakuma has received 41,890 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 177,330.

As at 12th November 2014, Kakuma had received 44,151 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 178,995.

As 30th July 2015, In Kakuma 4, 782 durable shelters were constructed for new arrivals and assessment of shelter needs is ongoing.

Approximately 80 per cent of the refugee population are comprised of women and children and more than 50,000 refugee children remain unaccompanied or separated. Within South Sudan, 85 per cent of the 1.97 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) are women and children.

Approvals have been granted for the expansion of refugee camps in White Nile state to ease congestion. Camp expansions are scheduled to begin in July.
