As of 23rd October, 43,940 new arrivals have been received in Kakuma since the beginning of influx. This brings the total camp population to 178,922

The President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, visited Gambella to have first-hand impressions of the South Sudan refugee crisis where he visited Tierkidi camp.

PRM / CDC / U.S. Embassy Mission visited Gambella for monitoring and evaluation of USG-funded programs and to assess humanitarian situation from 10-16 November.

As at 6th November 2014, Kakuma had received 44,131 asylum seekers from South Sudan. This brings the total camp population to 178,995.

UNHCR Representative, Mr Valentin Tapsoba, was in Gambella from 16-22 November to witness the launching of the relocation exercise from Matar to Pugnido camp

The relocation of refugees from Matar way station to Pugnido refugee camp commenced on 17 November.

The Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, Miss Khung-wha KANG, paid a one-day visit to Gambella.
